Looking Forward With a Fresh Face

Guyana looks much better than it did two years ago. The sprucing up for the Jubilee Anniversary celebrations in May 2016 made a pleasing difference to Georgetown, the capital. And the intention, I understand, is to keep things that way and even make them better. Let it be so.

I'm curious though. Are Guyanese up to it? Does everybody agree that a fresh clean face must enjoy high priority? That this is important both for the society and the economy? It would be good to know what is in place to sustain this welcome achievement. Do you know? Care to share? Photos would help.

Are new flowers blooming anywhere? Are more new drains being dug? Is fresh paint being deployed in more places that look tired and depressed?

  1. As of August, Georgetown still looked good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
